Trust You

I was stunned to find a letter from my nineteen-year-old self. I had no recollection of writing it. My advice was insightful and well grounded. I need to listen to me more often.

My fifty-something-year-old self had been struggling—discouraged and feeling disconnected. Then I found the letter. It read, “You can find the comfort you need in your worst times; you can find that spirit and peace . . . If you’re not connecting with heaven now, for any reason, start!”

I did. It worked. Thank you young, optimistic, courageous, too-naïve-to-be-afraid self.

You have more wisdom than you sometimes realize. Trust yourself. Connect with Heaven. Go forward.
